Ivy Lea Campground: August 30, 2025

  • by

Ivy Lea Campground sits on the south end of the 1000 Islands Parkway. It is one of ten campgrounds in the Parks of the St. Lawrence. The St. Lawrence Parks Commission, an agency of the Government of Ontario operates the campgrounds. In the past they were advertised in the same ‘Rates and Dates’ brochure as the Ontario Provincial Parks, but they operate differently. Friends Ben and Cheryl came to review this campground so we tagged along since we had never been there before.

Alexa and Paul

Alexa and Paul live in Kitchener and are camping with their friends, Casey and Monika. They camp in a cool Casita trailer, parked on a rock overlooking the St Lawrence River, Their site has a pretty view of the 1000 Islands Bridge to USA.

Casey, Monika, and Tilley the dog

Casey, Monika, and their Duck Tolling Retriever, Tilley live in London. This is their first visit to Ivy Lea Campground with their friends, Paul and Alexa. The four friends were boaters but have now transitioned to trailers or ‘land yachts’, opening up lots of new opportunities to explore.

Tilly and Terry

Tilly and Terry, live in Peterborough, They are camping in Ivy Lea Campground for their first time. They came over to our site to say hello to our friends, Ben and Cheryl. A “Camping With The Coles” review of The Parks of the St Lawrence from last year motivated them to camp here now.
