Camino Primitivo
Camino Primitivo begins in Oviedo, Spain and winds its way west for 320 km, through the Cantabrian Mountain range to Lugo, Spain, and finally Santiago de Compostela, Spain. It is called Primitivo or the Primitive Way because in the 9th century, King Alfonso II made the first recorded pilgrimage along this route to visit the newly discovered remains of Saint James.
I walked this camino in April, 2026.
