Chemin Le Puy

Chemin Le Puy is one of four main Camino routes traditionally used by predominantly French pilgrims to reach Santiago de Compostela in Spain. The route, also known as the GR65 and Via Podiensis,  actually begins in Geneva Switzerland and travels south-west across France, through Lyon, to Le Puy en Velay, its most popular starting point today.

From Le Puy, it travels 810 km across the south of France, passing in and out of farmland and forests, villages and towns. It reaches Spain just past Saint Jean Pied de Port, where it joins with the more famous and much busier Camino Frances. I walked from Le Puy, France to Pamplona, Spain.
