Camino Primitivo: April 12, 2026

  • by

Our hostel last night had nice modern facilities and friendly staff, but I won’t recommend
staying there on a Saturday night. They have a bar attached which after dark, turned night
club. The crowd spilled outside and the good times kept going until 6 am. Lesson learned.

Liana

Liana is a pilgrim from Latvia who started a day ahead of us. She also walked from Oviedo.
The simple and sometimes primitive conditions she witnessed on farms along the way were a
surprise to her.

Chris

Chris is a friendly pilgrim from England. He has walked several short caminos over the years.
He enjoys how walking caminos helps reset his priorities.

Lauren and David

Lauren and David live in Utah, USA. This is Lauren’s second camino and David’s first.. They
shared some insights about living and working in Utah when they grew up and studied in
other states.

Summer

Summer is from Beijing, China and this is her first camino. Walking through the mountains
was her motivation. She also started in Oviedo.

The temperature dropped today and the rain came and went as we walked 26.5 km to
Ferreira. We walked through lovely lush farmland. The trees are all filling with leaves and
some hay fields are already being baled. We came upon a wild boar in a ditch. We smelled it
before we saw it. Three more days to Santiago.
