Bruce Trail Portraits: May 6, 2022

  • by
Paul and Max were busy repairing minor damage to a bridge in Hamilton on May 6, 2022.

Paul and Max, Trail Captain Volunteers, were making minor repairs to a trail bridge within Hamilton city limits. They said the maintenance work was endless but satisfying. I noticed that most built trail features were decorated with graffiti, showing the trail in Hamilton is used by a diverse group of people. The trail, however, was clean and pleasant. Paul and Max have both done lots of hiking in the Niagara Region. I was impressed with how well the trail was buffered from the city.

I had another Airbnb booking cancelled for that night due to COVID 19, but was lucky to have a friend, Mark, coming to hike with me the next day. Mark picked me up, took me out for a pasta dinner, and took me back to his brother’s place for the night. Adventures like this only succeed with the generosity of others.
