Shelagh, Mark’s girlfriend has joined us! Mark and I walked to the airport. He stayed and waited for Shelagh’s arrival, and I walked on with Richard and Dudley. I reached our destination for the night, Muros de Nalon, but the Albergue Turistico Casa Camino didn’t open until 3 pm. I walked to the centre of town and spent an hour in my favourite type of establishment, a panderia (bakery). Mark and Shelagh took a taxi from the airport to our destination town and joined me.
While sitting and waiting for the albergue to open, Shelagh was greeted by four or five passing pilgrims who knew of her impending arrival. The Camino community embraced her within hours of her arrival.

Mark is from Southampton, Canada. Mark was travelling quickly, walking the highlights and bussing in between.

Alexandra is from northern Italy near the German border. She started in Irun and is taking her time. She is currently walking with Esther and Pavla.

Pavla is from the Czech Republic. She just started in Gijon and is planning to walk to Santiago. Unfortunately, knee troubles cut her camino short a week later.
