This is Alli from Waterdown at Borer’s Falls. I met her early as she went for a quick solo hike. She had just recently moved back to Ontario from New Brunswick. She had moved east for work just before COVID and felt isolated in lockdowns while there. Upon returning to family and home, she noticed the increased crowds at her favourite hiking spots. Luckily, the trail was quiet this morning.
The pain I felt in my left leg the day before became much stronger. I thought for sure I had shin splints caused by pushing too many kilometres early on. It did seem odd to have the pain in only one leg though. When Dawn picked me up at the end of my shortened day, she took me to Shopper’s Drug Mart to get a compression sock and pain killers. Unfortunately, I knew the next morning would be my last for a while.
On the upside, it was Mother’s Day and I got to join Marshall and Dawn for a great meal.
