Today Mark and I reached the halfway point to Santiago but let’s be clear, this is not about reaching a goal or a destination. It is the journey that matters. Everyday I meet more and more people who have left their old lives behind. They quit jobs that were unfulfilling and hope the walk will give them clarity. By walking the ‘Way’, they hope to find their way. We will walk only 19 km tomorrow with the hope of resting our weary bodies but also in the hopes that the journey lasts just a little longer.
We stayed at Albergue la Estacion in Llanes, an old train station in a picturesque beach town. Mark sent home 2 lbs of gear he wasn’t using and I bought an Allen key to fix the camera clip on my pack strap. We prepared and shared a pasta dinner with our friends Dudley and Richard at the albergue.
